Save a lot money and buy a CalTrac for $40. It is a calorie input/output calculator that does the same thing without all the hassle ~ and you don't have to spend all that time on the computer.

I am a very unhappy bodybugg customer right now. In 2009 my husband and I purchased two of them for a total of $500. It came with a one year free subscription and worked fine at the time. Being the fat people that we are, we discontinued using them and fell back into our old habits. Making a life time commitment and change like this requires time and knowledge. We are where we need to be now and 5 days ago we signed up for a monthly subscription again after already having lost 50+ pounds.

We had to download the new program and update the firmware on our armbands. My husbands armband didn't survive the firmware update. Finally after 40 minutes of waiting I reach tech support, they walk me through holding the button down and trying to reset it. Eventually she tells me that the armband didn't accept the firmware update and it's now broken. Sorry you'll have to buy a new one because you are outside of your warranty. Uhhh OK! So then I ask for a refund on my monthly subscription fee which was signed up for 5 days ago, two of those days were Saturday and Sunday (which customer service and tech support is closed). She said that it had been past 5 days (today being the 6th day) so she could not give a refund.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Seriously, YOUR firmware breaks my bodybugg that I paid $250 for. You refuse to replace it or give me a refund of $9.95 for the one month that I would be billed??

THIS IS BAD BUSINESS PEOPLE!! BAD, TERRIBLE BUSINESS!

So I call Customer Service. I speak with a very nice gentlemen. Who is sorry for our inconvenience, and is refunding us our $9.95. Unfortunately they can not replace our bodybugg, but since it was Tech Support's software which broke it he'd transfer me to a manager. The manager confirmed that it was their software that broke my bodybugg, but has to get approval from HIS manager to replace it and will call me back in 24 hours. I made sure he knew I was going to be calling him back to follow up on this if I don't hear from him.

Wish me luck.

If you are going to be a quality company, with quality products then you need to back up your quality and take care of your customer, especially when it's YOUR FAULT!

I have another bodybugg that I am now leary to update as I am affraid they are gonna say, oh well, screw you, go buy another one - if their firmware breaks it!

Beware, I bought two of these, neither of which worked, neither of which the company will stand behind. It is a huge rip-off. Tech support denied me a replacement or upgrade because I hadn't logged in to the program even though my previous calls to tech support were to ask for help in getting the product to work. Catch-22: Product defective --> Can't use or login --> Can't get replacement because not logging in. Go figure.

I don't know about you guys, but when I plunk down a couple hundred for a device, I don't feel like having to continue to pay money to use it. Is there anything like this or the "exerspy" on the market that doesn't essentially force you to subscribe and generate a continuous stream of revenue for the company out of your pocket?

Aside from greed, there is no reason to render these devices inoperable without a subscription.

Just wondering if anyone still reads this blog. I just got my bodybugg and I am excited to start using it. The cost was about $250 and that included the digital display.

Nothing but fustration, stopped working after 2 weeks.
On the phone with Tech support for a total of 2 hrs trying to repair and reset it via computer to no avail waited 2 weeks to receive replacement. Total waiting time on my tries to contact Tech support, 2 hrs. 40 min, asked to speak with a supervisor told he would call back, still waiting. If aggravation burns calories I should be at my goal weight by now. If you purchase this, GOOD LUCK

Like the body bugg program but the watch/digital display is very cheap. The digital display kept falling out of the wrist band. It's suppose to lock in place. Tried to get body bugg to replace during warranty period. They wouldn't. Falls out often. Usually find it. Now it hsve lost it due to poor manufacturing. Called bodybugg to complain. They say now that since I've had it 14 months warranty expired. I'm being held responsible for their poor manufacturing and their poor record keeping. I even had the work order # and they say they changed management in IT and they can't find the record. Basic run around and I will have to rebuy. A joke at best!!
