Life is a journey, and weight loss makes it more challenging and more rewarding. But enough philosophizing! The name “Open Source Diet” refers to both the intentions for sharing good information, and my geeky leanings.

I’m a blogger. It’s what I do and who I am. So naturally, when I take on a new endeavor, I want to blog about it. Right now, my big challenge is losing weight, so I’m creating this blog to document it. I’m hoping that some of the things that help me will help you, too, and maybe I can help you avoid some pitfalls along the way.

I can’t guarantee to write forever, and I can’t even tell you how often I’ll write. This is first and foremost a personal blog (though I’m certainly hoping that it will be useful to other people, too) and I’m definitely open to your input and questions; write me at bookchiq@gmail.com.
